It may be cold out, but it IS the first day of spring!!!  The kids had a half day of school today, so they've spent the afternoon playing "Spring Break"!!

The last couple weeks have been bad...and hard!  :( We had a friend and fellow firefighter with my husband pass away in the line of duty in a horrible accident.  After the visitation and funeral, it's just taken me a while to get back on track and caught up in everything.  I'm just going to post some pictures that I've taken over the last 14 days or so....many are iPhone pics, then I'll get back on track!  These are all going to be out of order too, sorry bout that!


3/17- After Carsyn's tumbling meet, we found a bar/restaurant called "The Penalty Box", so we stopped for a bite!

 3/10 at Kannons Hockey Banquet.

I picked a bad week to rent a macro lens!  I didn't get alot of time to play with it.  Here's my girls 2 toned left eye!!

Carsyn was having a party with her American Girl Dolls, so Kannon had one with his monster trucks!! :)

3/17- Tumbling meet-  2nd place in double mini...  6th in tumbling, 7th on trampoline.

3/16-  we walked with the firefighters in the St. Pattys Day parade.  Uptown Normal, Il.

  So proud of the paper purse she made!

Yep, big sis strikes again!  He loves it though!!

Carsyn:  I don't have to pee
Me:  just try
Carsyn:  I don't have to

Me:  you need to go before bed, so you don't have an accident
Carsyn:  I DON'T HAVE TO PEEEEE.  I promise I won't pee in the bed!!
Me:  If you do pee in the bed, I'M NOT CLEANING IT UP!!!

7:30 this morning-

Me: Carsyn, your night gown is on backwards
Carsyn: haha, I peed in the bed last night and had to change it in the dark!!!

8:00 this morning-

Me:  OK Carsyn, go get your sheets and blankets off your bed, and I'll teach you how to do laundry!!!  :)

Tonight, Kannon and Jakes mini mite team got to skate during the intermission at the Blaze game!!!   The whole team did great, and it was so cute to watch!!!  Kannon and Jake were the only 2 to score a goal...Way to go boys!!!  We're very proud of them!!

Welp, this was our 2nd trip on the train to Chicago to visit the American Girl Place, in a week!!!  Mom, Carsyn and I had planned this Valentine girls trip a loooong time ago!!  Then, a few weeks later, she got invited to a birthday party at AG a week before our trip!!  We decided to go ahead and do both trips!!  So much fun!  This time, we made a stop by Sprinkles Cupcakes....yum, ate at The Cheesecake Factory....Yum, then met with a personal shopper and had a great time at American Girl Place!!!  It was a wonderful day!

Another field trip for God's Garden Pre-K classes!!  This time, Funks Grove. They learned about maple syrup, and had time to explore and play. Kannon was a bit freaked out and scared because of the "forest".  They let the kids help tap a tree for sap.  Once he realized the tree wasn't going to fall over, and there weren't any loud noises going to happen, he was OK!!

Today was the big day!!!  The day we've been waiting for, for months!!!  Jaycie's b-day party at AGP in Chicago!!!!  6 girls, 6 dolls and 8 ladies!!  So much fun!!  Took the train up, had lunch, shopped, it was great, something these girls will remember forever!!!!!

Soooo, today I completed my very first sewing project!!!  I bought a sewing machine after Christmas, and I've never sewn before!!  I take that back, I think we had a few weeks of sewing in 7th grade home-ex class!!  Other than that, no sewing experience at all!!  Just something I wanted to try! :)  Anyway, I was super duper excited when I finally finished something all by myself, from start to finish!!  Isn't this cute????  It's a little flannel blanket for an American Girl Doll!  I thought it would be a perfect gift for my daughters friend, who's b-day we're celebrating tomorrow, in Chicago, at American Girl Place.....right???  WRONG!!!!  I took the blanket with me to pick the kids up from school, yes, I was that excited to show it to my daughter!!  When she got in the car, this is how to conversation went...
Me- LOOK CARSYN!!!!!!  I made a blanket for you to give Jaycie for her b-day!!!!!!!  :) :)  :)  :)
Carsyn-  Really mom?  A piece of fabric?  Can't we just get her a book?

Sigh......  I was even all fancy with the blanket stitch and everything!!!

So, we got Jaycie the book, and now Carsyns dolls have the "piece of fabric"!!!

Our Libby loves to sneak outside!!  When she's ready to come in, she sits on the grill, where we can see her through the kitchen window and let her in!!
